Q: I'm not always available to review manuscripts. Can the system inform an Editor of my availability?

A: EM allows all reviewers and editors to identify their unavailable dates and their reason for unavailability. The system automatically crosschecks this information whenever an Editor attempts to assign a manuscript to a Reviewer or another Editor. The EM system automatically looks ahead a predetermined number of days, thus ensuring that an individual who might be available over the next two days, but unavailable for two weeks following, gets identified as potentially unavailable. Of course it is left to the Editor's discretion whether or not a Reviewer receives an assignment anyway.
